I have slept over 800 nights in this bag..

    Comments about One Bag

You would think with how much I have slept in this bag I would have a lot to say. And to be honest its because I have spent so many nights in this bag I think its much more concise. The sleeping bag is more snug than I anticipated, however I'm a bigger guy and as my weight fluctuates so does the comfort. Despite the baffle there is draft thru the zippers and my toes get the worst of it, also the zipper baffle gets caught constantly in the zip especially as I'm about to retire it. I'm actually closer to 900 nights but don't know the exact number. For care it is so simple because it zips down to essentially 3 sheets and for the weight its surprisingly compressible. The amount of zippers make it a bit bulky. Overall would I buy this bag again? I would. It serves my niche world where I spend 26 weeks a year living in the outdoors, in any weather (Utah/Idaho). I also appreciate the yellow layer being down and the outer blue layer being synthetic, so nice for the nights I bivy and get condensation.

I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route over 7 days. we spent 5 nights over 13,000 feet and temperature was as low as 30 degrees with summit 0 degrees. It kept me warm and comfortable the entire adventure.

Very warm. Love that there are different layers so that I can use it for pretty much any temperature. It comes in a mesh bag but also has a stuff sack, which is nice so I can store it in the mesh bag but still be able to cram it into a smaller space if needed.

"One Bag" Works flawlessly in the Maine Allagash Wilderness

"One Bag" Performed flawlessly on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway in Maine. I am Registered Maine Guide, I recently guided a group of 8 clients through the Allagash. This was a 7 day canoe trip.We had a few nights of rain. One very rainy night my tent was in a super wet spot and some water came in. I stayed on my pad and the sleeping bag repelled surface water and stayed warm and dry. The other nights it was easy to regulate body temp using the various layers of the sleeping bag. I was never too hot or too cold. It packs small and the stuff bag makes a comfy pillow when turned inside out. I highly recommend this sleeping bag!

    Comments about One Bag

I bought this bag about 2 seasons ago and it has been my go-to for any camping, backpacking, weekend away situations. I probably have spend a minimum of 50 nights with the bag so I'm fairly acquainted at this point. Here are my thoughts: The Good: *Excellent idea with different temperature ratings. On cooler Colorado nights, I opt. for the 20 degree (yellow) layer, and anything below 30 degrees I'll also bring the blue layer for the full rating *Generally conformable- I bought the 6 ft. bag, but should have gotten the long version. I'm slightly over 6 feet and definitely max out the bag. The Annoying, but Okay: *Weight. With this design, it should be obvious you are not getting the lightest bag out there. It has synthetic in the bottom and blue layer. However, It is not extremely heavy, and I can get it into a compression sack to get it down relatively small. *Zippers. They catch, there are many of them. Do I see it as an annoyance, yes, but I still use the bag. The Bad: *Sudden Down loss? This one baffles (haha more on that in a second) me and I saw another review which prompted me to write this one. I bought the bag, seemingly had all my down in the yellow layer. I used for about 3 months towards the end of the first season I had it, washed it (with down wash, following all proper care instructions), and i noticed one of the cells near the feet had lost all of its down, along with another one near the chest. When I mean all down, I mean there was maybe one feather in the cell. I promptly sent to north face for a repair in the offseason, and approximately 5 months later I got the bag back and the problem seems to have been resolved, with the down refilled. Unfortunately, this most recent wash cycle (of which I have done 2 or 3 between the repair and this most recent), I have had the same issue occur, with all the down missing from a cell near the foot region. I do not recall if it is the same one as previously. I have NO idea how this is happening. The baffles between the cells appear to be in place, and there are no tears in the fabric. I did not see an exceeding amount of down after removing from the wash. This time, I am opting to repair myself, as I need the bag for the upcoming season. As this seems to be more than just an issue I have experienced, I feel as if this might be some sort of manufacturing defect. A cell with no insulation essentially makes the bag useless as there will be a large cold spot overnight. If someone from North Face could provide an explanation, I would be super appreciative and willing to share details as needed. Thanks!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
