I purchased this headlamp in Mid January and have used it regularly for a month, primarily for evening farm chores, and occasionally for walking our dog. I have purchased the "Dual Fuel" rechargeable battery from Black Diamond but have not used it enough to consider it in this rating. The headlamp is light weight and comfortable to wear. It gives a strong spotlight that lasts a long time on replaceable batteries. The blue lights (up to 3) indicate remaining but gives good light when only one is showing. The lower lumen light option is good for close work. I did not give it 5 stars because the buttons took some time to learn the settings and transitions. Also, I prefer a 1 inch headband rather than the 5/8 inch band on this headlamp. I have not had any difficulty when opening or closing the battery section. I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it to others.

This was a gift for my sister. She said that she had a headlamp previously that she didn't like (it was cheaply made). She said that this one has a bright light and useful additional features. I'm going to buy one for myself.

Great engineering, folks. Gosh, why is it so complicated to switch between modes? I use my headlamps for power outages, summer camping, and 10-essentials hiking safety. Like not every day. I read the directions, but geez, out on the trail, perhaps in an emergency, the "press this for 3 seconds, then double click this while touching your nose," etc etc? Not ideal.
